S. Border Security through the mechanism of Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (<strong>CTPAT<\/strong>). URS is able to conduct security audits of facilities within supply chain following <strong>CTPAT<\/strong> protocols and set a benchmark which enables them to improve their security systems.<\/label><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"news_date\">Why\u00a0<label id=\"ContentPlaceHolder2_txt_why\">CTPAT &#8211; CUSTOMS TRADE PARTNERSHIP AGAINST TERRORISM AUDITS<\/label><\/h2>\n<div id=\"ContentPlaceHolder2_txt_benefits\">\n<ul class=\"pr_info\">\n<li>Service providers in supply chain are able to establish their own security policies and work practices in compliance to CTPAT protocols and thus, enjoy, as minimum, the following benefits:<\/li>\n<li>Have their own security policies and way to improve.<\/li>\n<li>Able to improve security systems within the facility.<\/li>\n<li>May have reduced number of CBP examinations.<\/li>\n<li>Shorter waiting duration at U.S. borders.<\/li>\n<li>Shall have access to cargo at Free &amp; Secure Trade (FAST) Lanes at US borders.<\/li>\n<li>Priority inspections, where required.<\/li>\n<li>CTPAT participant facilities are treated as trusted Partner for CBP.<\/li>\n<li>Will have each access and eligibility for other U.S. pilot programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"news_date\">Description<\/h2>\n<p>A strict and high level of cargo security is required within the international supply chain such as importers, carriers, and manufacturers. The US Security and Accountability of Port Act provided a statutory security framework for the CTPAT program and has imposed strict program of oversight requirements. CBP requires to protect supply chain, identify security gaps, and implement specific security measures and best practices.<\/p>\n<p>An independent assessment by URS ME is carried out to verify security protocols, identify gaps and provide an opportunity to the facilities to improve security practices.<\/p>\n<p>CTPAT program requires to establish security policies and practices following C-TPAT Audit security criteria such as:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Physical Access Controls and Security<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Container and Merchandise Security<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Personnel Security<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Security Training &amp; Threat Awareness<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Information Technology Security<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Shipping Dock Security<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Key and Seal Controls<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Security Processes<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Briefly Post September 2001 event, Customs and Border Protection works with businesses to strengthen and improve the international supply chain and U.
