The standard is developed by Sustainable Apparel Coalition, aim to solve the industry\u2019s systemic challenges. URS is approved as Verifier Body by SAC \u2013 Sustainable Apparel Coalition to conduct verification of Higg FEM, the SAC verification protocol.<\/label><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"news_date\">Why\u00a0<label id=\"ContentPlaceHolder2_txt_why\">HIGG FEM- HIGG FACILITY ENVIRONMENTAL MODULE<\/label><\/h2>\n<div id=\"ContentPlaceHolder2_txt_benefits\">\n<ul class=\"pr_info\">\n<li>The Higg FEM of SAC provides benefits for the facilities:<\/li>\n<li>Relieves audit-fatigue<\/li>\n<li>Standardizes how facilities measure and evaluate environmental performance<\/li>\n<li>Have criteria to make the sustainability index better, in actionable data, and depth to brand\u2019s supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Indexing of data with increased accuracy and allows for sharing with several brands, regulators, business partners<\/li>\n<li>Catalyzes sustainability education and collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"news_date\">Description<\/h2>\n<p>Higg facility environmental Index\u00a0 is a\u00a0benchmark indexing protocol for apparel and footwear industry assessing environmental and social sustainability throughout the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Higg FEM tools were developed in 2012 by Sustainable Apparel Coalition for environmental sustainability. Higg Index is for the facility\u2019s internal use for measurement in the improvement of the facility\u2019s environmental performance.<\/p>\n<p>The SAC \u2013 Sustainable Apparel Coalition has developed verification program, Higg FEM, to build consistency, credibility and compatibility in Higg Index scores of facilities for them to benchmark and improve performances.
